We’re super excited to let you know that we’ve picked the finalists for Startup Yale 2024! We went through more than 100 submissions, and after a lot of thought and consideration, we’ve chosen the following amazing venture candidates:
The Startup Yale 2024 Finalists
- Guideli: an AI powered solution that streamlines the immigration, visa application and relocation process, making it simple, accessible and efficient.
- Elevation Gateway: offering affordable and ethical AI tools to elevate underrepresented and low-income college applicants. We’re on a mission to make college admissions consulting accessible to everyone—regardless of income.
- WealthMeUp: making financial knowledge fun and therefore accessible to all, with a particular focus on young female professionals aged 22-35 years old.
- Upkeep Care: connecting older adults and their caregivers to our extensive database of resources using conversational AI.
- Catala: a catalyst-based technology venture working to destroy contaminants in wastewater.
- PartsMatch: a custom GPT that leverages the power of AI and Machine Learning to empower automotive and motorcycle dealers to make informed inventory management decisions.
- Replica: an AI-powered platform enabling brands to create ads with legally licensed celebrity images, streamlining ad production and offering a cost-effective alternative to traditional photo shoots and marketing processes.
- TranscribeGlass: the world’s first affordable, comfortable, wearable smart glass device for people with hearing loss.
New Haven Civic Innovation Prize, $15,000
- Empowered Together: an online marketplace enables folks to discover, connect with, and recommend accessible businesses.
- Fulcrum: a tech-enabled oral health management system focused on addressing the unmet oral health needs of the Medicaid population managing chronic diseases.
- Huneebee Project: the world’s first affordable, comfortable, wearable smart glass device for people with hearing loss.
- Jubilee Project: an initiative in New Haven bringing holistic flourishing through relational, spiritual, and economic thriving.
Sustainable Venture Prize, $25,000
- Catala: catalyst-based technology venture working to destroy contaminants in wastewater.
- EVident Battery: develops a comprehensive and non-destructive inspection technology based on vibration analysis and machine learning to evaluate health conditions and financial values for eclectic vehicle (EV) battery packs.
- Laister: a small-scale, portable biodigester designed to efficiently convert kitchen waste into cooking fuel.
- Prospect Growth: manufacturer of nanoparticle-based fertilizers (“nanofertilizers”) for increasing crop yields while reducing nutrient inputs and losses.
Thorne Prize for Social Innovation in Health or Education, $25,000
- Elevation Gateway: offering affordable and ethical AI tools to elevate underrepresented and low-income college applicants.
- Lucid.Care Labs: a mental health diagnostic and monitoring platform – think Quest Diagnostics for mental health.
- Pyari: a menstrual health management project focusing on accessibility, affordability, accuracy, and advocacy.
- Upkeep Care: combining advanced analytics, AI, and persuasion science to help progressive campaigns run more efficient and effective voter contact programs.
Yale Innovators Prize, $15,000
- âme social: a member’s-only club where the ambitious, and intellectually curious young women gather to nurture genuine connections, while deepening their professional network.
- Midnight Oil Collective Ecosystems: a New Haven-based nonprofit organization that empowers artists’ ownership of their work through entrepreneurship support, venture-building resources, and grants.
- Numanac: leveraging AI-enabled Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) to enable farmers to interact with overwhelming data streams on a centralized platform.
- Win Number: combining advanced analytics, AI, and persuasion science to help progressive campaigns run more efficient and effective voter contact programs.
These finalists will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas and go head-to-head for some awesome prizes at Startup Yale 2024. Additionally, an Audience Choice Award will be given for each prize! This special monetary award will go to the team that captivates the audience’s hearts. So, remember to mark April 4th and 5th on your calendars, and come prepared to cast your vote!
