Mariama Kabia

Mariama Kabia is Worldwide Lead, Digital Equity Accelerator at HP. In this role, she manages HP Social Impact’s signature program that helps scaling nonprofits bridge the digital divide. For their global digital equity work, Mariama and her team were named TIME magazine’s first-ever Team of the Year in 2023.

Mariama comes to HP as Co-founder of Memunatu Magazine—an award-winning nonprofit committed to empowering teenage girls in Africa and the diaspora. At Memunatu, Mariama leads unique partnerships, including those with 30+ nonprofits, embassies, and student organizations, to bring innovative educational content to girls. Halcyon Incubator, Harvard Innovation Lab, Dell Social Innovation Competition, CGI U, and others have recognized Memunatu Magazine. Mariama was named one of Washington Life Magazine’s “Tech 25.” She has spoken about social impact, entrepreneurship, and African innovation at the Woodrow Wilson Center, the US Department of State, the White House, Vital Voices, Yale University, and Harvard Business School.

Previously, Mariama was the Innovation and Learning Manager at Women Deliver and was a Gender Innovation Consultant for the United Nations Population Fund. In 2019, Mariama became an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Penn Wharton Entrepreneurship.

Mariama is an alum of Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government (M.P.P.) and the University of Pennsylvania (B.A.) cum laude in International Relations with a minor in French. Mariama is based in New York, NY.
