Lorine Pendleton is an accomplished VC investor and professional with a diverse background spanning the legal, technology, media and entertainment industries. She is the founder and Managing Partner of 125 Ventures, investing in sports, media and entertainment companies at the intersection of tech. She has an impressive track record in the field of entrepreneurship and investments.
With a passion for supporting underrepresented founders, Lorine has dedicated her career to making a significant impact on the venture capital landscape. For several years, Lorine focused on angel investments in women and diverse-led companies, aiming to create a more significant impact. Recognizing the potential to create more change by writing larger checks, she partnered with Portfolia in late 2019 to create and launch the Rising America Fund I (RA I) investing. Portfolia, founded by Trish Costello the founder of the Kauffman Fellows program is an innovative platform of investment funds for women targeting undervalued and misunderstood opportunities in high-growth sectors within the venture capital landscape. It’s made investments in over 140 companies across 15 venture funds. Lorine has made investments in over 35 companies through direct investments as an angel investor and with her two Portfolia funds, including notable ventures like Oura (well-known sleep wearable device now valued at $2.5B), Madison Reed (large CPG company), Canela Media (3rd largest Latinx media brand/streaming service), Maven Clinic (first $1B+ women’s health company), Rhode Island Football Club & Tidewater Stadium (professional USL football team and new stadium) MoCaFi, Kanarys, Goalsetter, Curastory, ShearShare, and Schola.
Her educational background is equally impressive, having graduated from Brown University with a BA in Economics. She further pursued her academic journey at New York Law School, where she earned her JD.
