Genevive Walker

Genevive Goubourn-Walker was raised in New Haven, Connecticut, where she attended the Educational Center for the Arts and studied theater. After graduating from Wilbur Cross High School, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies from Temple University in Philadelphia. Genevive later received her MA in Elementary Education from Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City.
A veteran 5th-grade teacher, she has taught in the New Haven and Hamden Public School Districts. Genevive also spent a decade at ConnCAT, serving as CEO, Chief Operating Officer, and Director of Programs. Today, she is the Director of Workforce Development at Social Impact Partners (SIP) and the Founding Principal of Increase Consulting, LLC. In her role at SIP, she focuses on Regional Sector Partnerships and collaborates with the Governor’s Office of Workforce Strategies to connect job seekers with employment opportunities across Connecticut. Through her consulting business, she dedicates her energy to supporting non-profit organizations, community initiatives, and educational entities in enhancing their communication, capacity, and impact.
In addition to her professional work, Genevive serves on several non-profit boards in New Haven, including EMERGE CT, Cornell Scott Hill Health Center, Career Resources Inc., and the Youth to Youth Network Board. She also hosts the popular podcast Jazzy Conversations with Teef and Gigi. Above all, Genevieve’s greatest passion is caring for and loving her children and her amazing husband.
