Deniz Basar
Deniz Basar is the Coordinator of the MPS User Experience Design and MS Information Science programs and serves as an Associate Professor of Industrial Design at the University of New Haven. With over two decades of experience in industrial design, design research, and higher education administration, Deniz is recognized for her expertise in human-centered design, UX, and design thinking. She has played a pivotal role in program coordination, design cognition, and fostering collaborations between academia and industry.
Previously, Deniz held several academic and leadership positions at Istanbul Technical University, including Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Visual Communication & Design Coordinator, and Vice Dean. Her professional journey also includes consulting for Thinstone and serving on editorial and advisory boards, underscoring her commitment to advancing design education and research. Deniz’s mission is to integrate design psychology and creativity into educational programs, bridging academic research with practical industry applications and nurturing the next generation of design leaders.
