Daniel Kellogg

Daniel Kellogg, the current President of Young Concert Artists (YCA), brings a profound blend of artistic and leadership skills honed both as an alumnus and former YCA Composer-in-Residence. His tenure at YCA has been marked by a commitment to nurturing the next generation of concert soloists and artistic leaders, building on the organization’s legacy of launching prominent musical careers.

A celebrated composer, Daniel’s works have been performed by leading orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, and Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, and featured in festivals like the Aspen Music Festival and the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music. His compositions have also been premiered by renowned ensembles, including the Takacs Quartet, the Pacifica Quartet, and the Eighth Blackbird. Notable recognitions include a Charles Ives Fellowship from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the ASCAP Rudolf Nissim Award, and six Morton Gould Young Composer Awards. His music has reached international audiences through broadcasts on NPR, BBC, and more.

Daniel holds degrees from The Curtis Institute of Music and the Yale School of Music, where he earned his Doctorate of Musical Arts. He formerly served as Professor of Composition at the University of Colorado, Boulder, College of Music, where he spearheaded major initiatives including the forming of new partnerships and expanding program funding.

Now residing in New York City with his family, Daniel is an avid runner who enjoys photography and cooking, finding joy in creative pursuits beyond the concert hall.
